Not sure if HVAC or plumbing is the right fit for you? That’s okay. With our Shadow Days, you can spend time alongside our experienced technicians, seeing the job firsthand before committing to the career path.
What to Expect on a Shadow Day:
Join a pro in HVAC or Plumbing — service or installation
Observe real projects in homes and businesses
Lend a hand while learning how the trade works in the real world
Participate only after passing an initial group interview and safety screening, since you’ll represent Action Mechanical while with customers
To request a Shadow Day, email service@actionhvacplumbing.com with the subject line .
Action Mechanical apprenticeships are built around field learning, not just classroom time. From the very first week, you’ll be working with tools, tackling real systems, and gaining knowledge from seasoned pros.
Our Programs Include:
HVAC Installation → 1 week of shop training, then immediate field experience installing systems.
HVAC Service → 3 weeks of shop technical prep followed by service calls, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Plumbing → Learn rough-in, finish work, water heaters, drain lines, and real service skills.
With structured rotations between field time and training refreshers, you’ll constantly be moving forward toward mastery.
This isn’t just a job — it’s a trade career with unlimited earning potential. Apprentices start earning right away, and as you build your skills, your paycheck grows with you.
We invest heavily in your professional development with advanced training through:

Our technicians who commit to the process routinely grow into six-figure earners in just a few short years.

Not at all. While experience is always helpful, it’s not required to begin a career with Action Mechanical. We provide structured training and mentorship to help you build your skills step by step. Many of our most successful technicians started with no prior background in the trade. If you have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to customer service, we’ll provide everything else you need to succeed.
Yes. Unlike unpaid training programs, our apprentices start earning a paycheck from day one. You’ll be working alongside experienced professionals while learning valuable skills on the job. As you grow and achieve milestones, your pay increases over time. This way, you don’t just invest your time—you start building your career and financial stability right away.
The growth potential in the HVAC and plumbing industry is outstanding. Skilled technicians often earn between $80,000–$120,000 per year, and top earners can go even higher. Beyond income, you can grow into leadership positions such as lead technician, trainer, or even management. With technology and demand for HVAC services always increasing, this field offers long-term security and advancement opportunities.
We understand that timing and readiness can vary. If you don’t get accepted right away, you’ll receive constructive feedback so you know exactly what to improve. Many candidates who didn’t make it on the first try reapplied later and went on to have successful careers with us. We encourage persistence because motivation and dedication are what truly make the difference in this industry.
